Now I’m going to be very straightforward and honest with you right from the get-go: Mate1 is only good for finding overseas woman who want access into the United States — but besides that, it’s more or less a scam. Now before I tell you exactly why it’s such a horrible site, let me tell you about the few good things Mate1 has to offer.
Mate1 is somewhat fun to use with a lot of chat rooms and fun little details that you can put in your profile like: “People tell me I look most like…” They have tabbed browsing that makes it relatively easy to navigate the site. All advertising is pushed off to the side so there are no advertising nuisances to get in your way when you’re trying to search the site. That’s about it; Mate1 has nothing else to offer besides a never ending list of garbage.
Mate1 claims that their 3 day trial period is only $1.95, which is true for exactly 3 days; one minute of the 72 hours mark and your credit card is charged a heft $50 dollars. They do inform you about this in the lower left hand side in the super fine print. Once you get into the site you get bombarded with “online ambassadors” looking for a good time. These online ambassadors usually never fit your existing requirements that you stated in your profile. They’re always looking for a “good time” and want to “hang out”. They will never give you another picture of them and take years to respond.
I later found out that these so called online ambassadors are just bots that make you want to stay at the site past the 3 day mark just so they can get the $50 dollars. Oh, and if you cancel, your email will get raided with another wave of online ambassadors trying to get you to sign up again.
Finding people who fit your personal liking is next to impossible on this site leaving you stuck with whatever you get or whoever is online. I tried searching for a 420 hookup in my area and was left in the cold — I got no responses and there was no special category for it or anything – there was zilch. The people on the site didn’t even seem too open to even talking about 420, never mind going out with someone who wanted to smoke it.
It’s a tough site to use, offering nothing besides fake “online ambassadors” and $50 dollar credit card charges. If you’re looking for an adult online dating website, Mate1 is not the answer.
All in all – don’t even bother for North American 420 hookups. At all.
